Walking and Running For Weight Loss - Tips

Here are a few walking and running for weight loss tips. I'm going to share with the best ways to maximize these 2 exercises. Most people do them WRONG! You however, won't, after you read this now.

1. Walking tips

Walk on some sort of incline... whether it be a hill or a treadmill. Walking on flat surface is a waste of time if you're looking for quick weight loss. It's decent for conditioning and weight maintenance, but not fast weight loss.

Ideally, walk on an incline slope of something around 15-20 degrees. This type of walking can be done for 20-25 minutes, 4 days a week.

One other tip... and you can use this tip anytime, but I like to use it while I walk. Take deep breaths at least once a minute. The added oxygen helps burn up fat.

2. Running tips

Running on an incline is also good. I won't get into that. You already got the gist of it for the walking above, just make sure you shorten the running on an incline to about 15 minutes... instead of the 25 minutes for walking on an incline.

The big tip for running is to use high intensity intervals... short bursts of all out 90% or higher capacity running for 10 seconds at a time. After each one of those sprints, then you can either walk or jog slowly for the next 50 seconds until you repeat the sprint again. Do 10-20 of these 2-3 times a week... depending on how your body is handling it.

Sprints pour off the fat. It just melts right off.

I was watching a spiritual program recently and the person asked a question and then his answer really caught me off guard. Im going to ask you the question he asked and then give you his answer. It will definitely make you think.

What is the richest place on earth? Is it the diamond mines, oil fields.what could be the richest place on earth?

Okay, heres what this person said. He said, Its the cemetery. When I heard this, I was very perplexed. How could a cemetery be the richest place on earth?

Here is his rationale for this answer. Many people have died with the music still in them. Pointing to the imaginary gravestones, he elaborates that heres one that had a book inside that never got written. Heres another one who had an idea to start a business, but never started it. Heres another one who had an idea for a product, but never stepped in faith to follow through.

He had so many examples of the richness that lies in all of us, but so many dont commit to action and follow their passion. Did you know that only 1% of the population is actually living their purpose? This is why he is trying to spread his message that we all have something within us that were supposed to share with the world. Like Louise Hay says, Somewhere someone is looking for exactly what we have to offer.

When we are functioning from fear and getting caught up in our struggles, our connection to God is corroded. This affects our body adversely. We cant even imagine living our purpose because we dont feel well. God intends that we live as vibrant human beings sharing our talents, our giftsour earthly purpose.

When our bodies are not functioning optimally, we cant see any possibilities. Our body is begging us to nurture it with all the right components to be vibrant. Then its automatic to be dedicating our life to our intended purpose because we feel so good. When you feel great, you automatically think in terms of GGRREEEAATTT!

What are the riches that are within you? What do you have that someone is looking for? When are you going to make a commitment to your health so that you can start living your purpose?

Weight Loss Tips - Control During Pregnancy

Preventing excess weight gain during pregnancy is imperative for the health of the mother-to-be and the baby. Excess weight gained during pregnancy can place the unborn baby at risk, create complications during the birth process and place the mother at risk for gestational diabetes and high blood pressure.

Weight control during pregnancy is not really difficult, although pregnant mothers don't really feel like exercising or restricting their diets during this time. However, they do need to make some compromise to ensure their own and the baby's health. Moreover, if weight gain is controlled during pregnancy, it will be that much easier and quicker for the mother to get back into shape post pregnancy.

A sensible and a healthy diet coupled with regular, light and low impact exercise like walking is the best. Although many diets are supposedly safe for pregnant women, they must be undertaken only against the advice of a doctor.

Certain foods must be avoided at this time, not just because of the possible excess weight they might bring on because of their possible effects on the unborn child. These are foods that have high mercury levels like some types of fish and foods with high caffeine content. These include:

- Shark, King Mackerel, Swordfish, Tuna, Albacore and Tilefish.

- Junk food.

- Alcohol and tobacco.

- Excess caffeine.

- Liver and all its products.

- Spicy and fatty food.

Pregnant women need to have a high intake of nutrient rich food like fruits and vegetables. Food with a high content of folic acid like cauliflower, beets and greens and food rich in calcium is imperative at this time to prevent defects in the unborn child. In fact, it is highly recommended that this type of a diet start at least three months before falling pregnant.

Moderate exercise is essential during pregnancy. Besides avoiding unwanted weight gain, it will ease the many aches and pains that carrying a growing baby for 9 months will bring along. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on the back muscles; an excess weight gain will only add to this strain. Exercise and weight control will also, very importantly, keep the pelvic muscles toned and strong to aid and ease the birthing process.

While weight control is important, it is understood that the exercising will be low-impact and without placing any undue stress on the body. Activities like high impact Aerobics and weight lifting are definitely out. Walking is better than jogging at this time as also is swimming. Videos for women during the pre-natal period are a good idea because they are specially created for this stage of life. The gentle stretches and poses help ease the aches in the lower back area which bears the brunt of the strain during pregnancy.

A note of caution is necessary here not to overstretch while doing exercises that require them. Weight loss and pregnancy relaxes the muscles in preparation for birth allowing pregnant women to stretch more that usual. Overstretching may harm the muscles and ligaments.

Here are a couple weight loss solutions that work. You probably have a big belly that you want to get rid of. Ok, fine... that'll be taken care of with the following advice. You'll be able to lose weight, even if you're KIND OF LAZY. You don't need to be "hardcore" to lose weight.

1. Limit the foods you eat so you don't have too many choices

Ok, this is both good and bad, but it works awesome for weight loss. The good, this is mindlessly easy. Just find some foods that are healthy and that you like and keep eating them over and over. This would be great if those foods were high in either protein or fiber... OR both.

Foods such as black beans, eggs, and lentils are great to have at each meal.

Now the bad, you probably don't want to do this diet for more than a few weeks. The reason is because you may become deficient in certain nutrients when you limit the variety of foods you eat. This usually isn't a big deal because most people who eat a ton of bad foods are in fact deficient already. So you'll probably improve the amount of nutrients, minterals, and vitamins you get.

2. Use Stevia in your water

Drink nothing but water. If plain water isn't good enough for you and you need a sweet taste, add 2 packets of Stevia into your water. Shake up or stir into the water. You'll drop a thousand plus calories a week by using this tip alone. And you won't miss your sodas or diet sodas.
